About Richard Tims

'Chairman Rich' has masterminded a turnaround in the club’s fortunes since taking over in 1999. At that point Sheffield FC were playing in front of 'one man and a dog' at the cavernous Don Valley stadium, with no fans, no cash and not much hope of making it to the 150th anniversary in 2007.

A combination of passion for the club and a shrewd business sense has seen Richard transform the fortunes of the world’s oldest football club. The club now has a ground to call home for the first time in its history – the BT Local Business Stadium in Dronfield – a loyal fan base and an ever increasing army of worldwide members and supporters.

"We’ve come a long way, but there’s still a long way to go," the Chairman writes for his blog. "We’ve got big plans for this club, for the 150th anniversary in 2007 and beyond."
